The Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre (KGRTC) offers training in five (5) core focus areas; Power Systems Operations and Management * Engineering Operations and Maintenance * Engineering Applications and Management * Safety, Healthy, Environment and Quality Assurance * Corporate Governance, Management and Leadership Development. KGRTC also provides consultancy services in the energy, management and developmental sectors of the economy. Training
The scheduled training programmes range in duration, from two days to thirteen weeks and can be conducted at KGRTC or online (through virtual platforms). All courses are certified at skills award level for competency under the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training
Authority (TEVETA) in Zambia.
In addition, the Centre offers tailor-made training programmes and
can conduct onsite training at clients’ premises in order to cost effectively meet the specific needs of individual organisations.
Lecturers are highly qualified and have significant levels of experience in engineering and management. Their expertise is reinforced by current links with outside organisations such as ABB AB, Substation Automation Products (ABB SAP) in Sweden, Acier Profile SBB Inc, in Canada and the International Centre for Hydropower (ICH) in Norway.
KGRTC uses a variety of teaching methods, including formal lectures, tutorials, study tours, computer based training and state of the art computerised and conventional simulators, software packages and laboratory work. Their state-of-art equipment contributes significantly to the quality of training.
Tailored courses are designed to meet specific client needs, addressing local business circumstance and they can be delivered virtually anywhere in the world.
